STRIKE ZONE
In bass fishing, the strike zone basically represents the visual range in which the largemouth bass has the highest probability of attacking the prey. In reality the Strike Zone is a more extended concept and also represents the area or areas in which the fisherman concentrates more in each fishing session. The places where we think it is most likely to find active predators, shady areas, covers, obstacles, rocks, submerged trees and much more.
Below I created a chart that helps us understand how to best delineate the Strike Zone. I was inspired by an article in an old fishing magazine and I hope it will be useful.
STRIKE ZONE IS MORE…..
it also represents the area or areas where it is most likely to find active predators
Reeds
The ideal habitat for largemouth bass, especially in small ponds.
Covers
Each type of cover offers perfect shelter for the largemouth bass
Shady Areas
The largemouth bass always prefers to hunt in the shady areas.
Waterlilies
We find them especially in summer, they offer shelter and oxygenation.
Grass
The grass supplies oxygen, hosts insects and small invertebrates, an ideal habitat for black bass.
Submerged Tree
Here the largemouth bass finds the perfect habitat for hunting small prey.
Rocks
The rocks store more heat, excellent spot even in the cold seasons.
Structures
Artificial structures are a source of shelter and forage.
Deep Water Targets
Submerged structures/objects, generally identified by a fish finder.
